Our custom SSD Caching Storage Solutions utilize Adaptec MaxIQ SSD Cache Controllers to accelerate I/O in SSD/HDD High-Performance Hybrid Arrays. Teaming lower-cost traditional hard disk drives with the high read and IOPS performance of Solid State Drives, these SSD Caching Systems maximize performance while lowering capital and operating costs for OLTP databases, data centers, and cloud computing.

High-Performance Hybrid Arrays

Relative to standard magnetic hard disk drives (HDDs) SSDs offer extremely high performance and low latency, consume very little power and require almost no cooling. The difference is dramatic – certain operations can be performed more than a 100x faster on an SSD than is possible on a rotating disk. The catch is that today's SSDs are much more expensive than rotating drives, especially when measured using the traditional “cost per GB of capacity” metric. HPHAs eliminate the need for doing application-specific tuning or software rewrites, and also make it possible to do the same, or more, with fewer more power-efficient disk drives, reducing power and cooling costs.

Adaptec MaxIQ SSD Caching Software introduces a patent-pending Learned-Path Algorithm that alleviates the bottleneck that can occur between server processors and hard drives by copying frequently-read data directly into an optimized SSD cache pool for faster retrieval in future requests. This lowers overall system latencies and greatly improves the system CPU-to-storage performance gap. Hot data is read from the SSD cache and routes cold data to the HDDs for maximum performance.
