Node Form Factors

Blade Server | Custom Design | Mobile-Rack | Modular Servers

As deployment sites and hosting facilities vary widely, we offer a variety of form-factors to accommodate different density and power requirements to always deliver a perfect fit.

We custom integrate very dense blades, modular racks accommodating larger and more scalable fleets of servers and switching fabrics, multi-flex hybrid form-factors, and custom fabricated hardware and housing.

Blade Server

Blade form-factors provide end-users with very dense levels of CPU and Memory with options for both InfiniBand and/or Ethernet switch fabrics. With a significantly smaller physical footprint, and very efficient power supplies, blade technologies are very appropriate for sites seeking to maximize savings.

Thinkmate SuperBlade Thinkmate SuperBlade

SuperBlade offers many unique advantages that differentiate it from competitors' blade products and traditional rack-mount solutions. Customer benefits include maximum affordability, reduced management costs, lower power consumption, optimal ROI, and high scalability - and in most applications, blade servers even reduce acquisition costs.

Custom Design

At many sites, very specific configuration and combinations of components that do not simply fit into "off the shelf" cases are common. We custom design and build special form-factors and enclosures for specific purpose built platforms regularly.

Custom Form Factor Custom Form Factor

For example, we delivered one of the first quad-socket Opteron 1U designs to the US Navy (months ahead of the market) with Pathscale (now QLogic) InfiniPath host adapters in HTX-bux risers. Our custom chassis and design-win made this winning solution possible. Currently we have one of the densest form-factors for supporting stream computing with GPUs in the market in our own custom design.

Mobile Clusters

As CPU-core and node densities shrink, it is more possible then ever to pack significant amounts of computational horsepower into a 14U mobile rack. This allows sites to safely move assets between locations or cities, or take technology on the road to client sites or trade shows.

Mobile-Rack Mobile-Rack

For mobile enclosures we work exclusively with the world leaders in this technology, Hardigg --also located in Massachusetts. We have most commonly delivered turnkey mobile HPC compute and storage platforms in 7U and 14U mobile form-factors to the broadcast and defense markets. Hardigg's enclosures meet a wide range of strict military environmental specifications.

Modular Servers

Traditionally, most massively scalable cluster platforms feature a mix of custom chosen hardware including headNode(s), procNode(s), switch fabric hardware (often both Ethernet and high performance interconnect topologies), storage arrays (sometimes clustered with a parallel file system), and miscellaneous peripheral gear such as slide-out LCDs, keyboards. With a KVM, IPMI, or serial console fabric(s) added, it is no wonder that racks can fill-up quickly with hardware and dense cable management.

Modular Servers
Rackmount Servers

Traditional "racks" allow us to layout clusters with the best positioning of all components to insure that current/future operations are well planned for. We take extreme pride in how we layout, rack/wire and deploy racks full of servers.

Multi-Flex Multi-Flex Servers

The Thinkmate Multi-Flex Server integrates storage, computing, and networking to simplify complex IT environments. The Thinkmate Multi-Flex Server is a business - in - a - box server system with seamless installation, migration, and growth capabilities. It has the ability to support up to six Server Compute Modules and 14 SAS 2.5" hard disk drives, as well as two Ethernet Switch Modules, integrated SAN, and a Management Module. The Thinkmate Multi-Flex Server is a flexible and powerful solution for the small to midsize business.
